Compassion, Ben & Jerry’s and the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) have joined forces to launch the Supporting Better Dairy campaign, with the aim of securing an EU Dairy Cow Welfare Directive.
Most of the EU’s 27 countries don’t have specific rules for the welfare of dairy cows, as they do for pigs and hens, so our aim is to secure a new EU Directive that will protect the welfare of the 23 million dairy cows across Europe.
