“The City of London Corporation, including the Barbican, Guildhall, Old Bailey, City of London Police and our schools, is very proud to have received the Good Egg Award 2015 for sourcing over 1.5 million free range eggs and egg products annually. Animal welfare standards are becoming increasingly important to our Members, staff, visitors, schoolchildren and catering partners, and as such we are delighted to have been recognised by Compassion in World Farming in this way.”

She continues “as part of our new Responsible Procurement Strategy, we aim to build on our commitment to higher animal welfare standards by expanding our efforts to dairy and meat products within our catering contracts. We will also continuously strengthen our stance on sustainably sourced fish and ethically sourced products throughout our supply chains.”
