Norsk Killing was the first sizable integrator in the world to first to convert 100% of their production from conventional chicken to chicken production according to ECC standard. This was done as part of their "“Green value chain” project that has the ambition to set a new environmental standard for all future food industry by reducing energy consumption, waste and environmental footprint, improving area and production efficiency, EHS, animal welfare, developing novel feed ingredients, and food safety. Besides the conversion to ECC standards they have also already reached another major milestone as a greenfield processing plant powered completely by renewable energy.

"We work actively in all parts of our value chain to find new, innovative, responsible, and sustainable solutions. Through cooperation and a circular mindset and in close collaboration with competent and engaged people, we have successfully established a promising project portfolio. This Special Recognition Award is for us a great acknowledgement that will add to our motivation as we keep working to build the world’s best value chain in food industry."
