News Section Icon Published 21/10/2011

Compassion presented its biggest yet Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards to some of Europe’s top food manufacturers, retailers and producers at a glitzy awards evening at the Eiffel Tower in Paris last night (Thursday 20 October).

Awards were presented in four categories:

  • Good Egg
  • Good Chicken
  • Good Dairy – which was introduced this year
  • Leadership in Pig Welfare, exclusive to 2011

Some 40 organisations from eight countries were rewarded for their commitment to improving the lives of animals by sourcing only higher welfare eggs, chicken, pig meat or dairy produce.

Good Farm Animal Welfare Award winners so far this year are set to improve the lives of more than 60 million hens, chickens, pigs and dairy cows across Europe as a result of their policies.
