Compassion works with large food manufacturers and major brands to encourage them to adopt higher welfare standards across their product portfolios. We work with the biggest names, including companies like Unilever, Mondelēz International and Premier Foods, that have the ability to make change on a large scale and have the biggest impacts farm animal welfare.
We celebrate progress with our Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards programme, and also work with companies on a range of partnership projects. These projects focus on improving welfare in specific areas of the supply chain, for example, phasing out beak trimming in laying hens or exploring viable alternatives to sow stalls for pigs.
We also work closely with smaller producers in the farming community to identify best practices in farm animal welfare that are practical, cost effective and are easy to implement.
We work jointly with major food companies and their supply chain partners to help integrate higher welfare strategies, as well as strengthen the argument for investment decisions.
