Five US companies confirm Better Chicken progress

Compassion is excited to share that five US companies across the retail, restaurant, and meal kit sectors have published formal roadmaps and reporting for their Better Chicken Commitments.

US Company Roadmaps

Our US Food Business team worked closely with these companies to support their implementation plans and are excited to share this progress:

  1. Blue Apron
  2. HelloFresh
  3. Sprouts Farmers Market
  4. Sunbasket
  5. Sweetgreen

Developing Roadmaps

Developing a public roadmap helps align internal stakeholders, allows for adequate supply chain planning efforts, and improves communications with external stakeholders to demonstrate companies' dedication to improving animal welfare. Compassion assisted these companies in the data analysis from supply chain audits, and helped review and revise draft documents before publication.

These companies will be highlighted as the first roadmaps published in the upcoming US ChickenTrack report (later this quarter), demonstrating their leadership in this space.

We hope these implementation plans will serve as a catalyst for other companies to follow suit and publish their own roadmaps to Better Chicken Commitment compliance in the coming months both in Europe and in the US.
