The Better Chicken Business Network (BCBN) is bringing together poultry producers, processors, retailers and other industry professionals for a free seminar in Valencia on 3 December 2026.

We will explore how factors including breed, stocking density and birds’ activity levels can influence the quality and nutritional value of chicken meat.

Expert researchers will present the latest evidence, while speakers from different countries will share insights into their experiences of higher-welfare production. Attendees will also have the opportunity to examine and compare different production systems and consider what these findings could mean for the future of the chicken meat sector.

The event will conclude with a networking lunch, giving participants the opportunity to connect with companies from across Europe and exchange knowledge and experiences.

About the BCBN

Launched in October 2024, the BCBN was created for companies across the chicken meat supply chain. It helps businesses address shared challenges and connects companies looking for suppliers or buyers of products that meet the European / Better Chicken Commitment’s higher-welfare criteria.

The global network now has more than 246 members representing 149 companies in 21 countries across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

The Valencia seminar forms part of the BCBN’s programme of activities for businesses during the final months of 2026. Other initiatives include a study tour to a higher-welfare farm in Italy and a webinar on marketing and communicating higher-welfare products.
